Subsequent to meeting Rich Mnisi at the Menswear shows in February, I had been stalking the young designer’s work in every way possible that wouldn’t lead to my arrest. His was a show that certainly had me on the edge of my seat and stretching my neck as far as it could possibly go in efforts to see every last detail he sent down the runway. Despite it being a menswear showcase, I adored every piece in his collection – especially the oversized red aviator jacket (as mentioned before). Mnisi is known to break the barriers between gender roles and expectation as his male models sported feminine jumpsuits amongst other creations. In his latest autumn/winter ’16 campaign, Mnisi recruits some of SA’s most popular personalities to present his work to the world in series two of CMYK – Characters in Media & Youth Kuns.
